Pat Conroy, ‘Eulogy for a Fighter Pilot’

Brian O'Hare thought he knew his Marine pilot father and his country after graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy and serving as a Marine himself in combat. This set Brian on a quest to demythologize not only his father and himself, but his country as well—the America beyond the wealth and fantasy—discovering what it truly means to be 'American'.
